Beautiful morning here, and since dawn I've taken the opportunity to
work in the garden - mainly hacking back rampant shrubs and climbers and catching-up on the watering. Noticed that a shield of high cloud has been moving in from the south-south-east and is beginning to obsure the sun. Presumably an outlier of the storm over northern France which (I assume and regrettably) will get nowehere near us here in SW Essex. Go one, someone tell me it's got our name on it ........ I wouldn't be at all surprised, it's the neighbouring village's fete today ....... Regards, - Tom Blackmore, SW Essex. |

Satellite image shows the storms clearly and shows the cloud sneaking into the very far SE. I doubt whether you'll see any rain in Essex. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/satpics/latest_uk_ir.html |

Four hour lightning show all around, gusty wind, but oddly, not a drop of rain. Good fun though. We seem to get these long overnighters quite frequently over here - always spectacular. CK |
