Default Forecast for Truro, Cornwall area for Monday 12th July

Would any of you clever people care to make a forecast for the Truro area
for Monday 12th July, which is the date of the Stithians Show, the biggest
one-day agricultural show in the country.
Thanks in advance.

Following the underwhelming success of my forecast last year (mind you
Stithians did manage a downpour of it's own making), I predict a fine
Summer's day. Sunny periods, not too humid, max around 20C or so.

Just noticed the word 'clever' in your post - so probably best to
ignore my response.

The sea was incredibly warm out at Sennen yesterday, note the warm
pool off the tip of Cornwall on http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/...ni-weekly.html
(last image).

Thanks Graham. That sounds good to me. Not too hot for the animals (or the
paying public!).
I've been watching the sea temperatures in the hope that the warm water
will bring the basking sharks close in under Pendennis Point. Not seen any
this year yet, but I know they are about.

I rather hope Graham's forecast is correct and the lovely day extends
into the evening, as I have tikets booked at the Minack that night.
Unfortunately I don't feel as confident of the weather as he does and
I'm going to take a waterproof!

There were a number of basking sharks around in mid June, but they
seem to have largely vanished for the moment.

A few nice pics near Porthcurno/Porthchappell

Penzance - where some sunny intervals has pushed the temperature up to
a very sticky 21C (also hit 21C on Scilly during a cloud break)

Probably all gone up the west coast of Scotland now. I've actually seen
them from Sumburgh Head, the southerly tip of the Shetland mainland.

Nice photos. I find basking sharks fascinating, but I can't explain why.

I can highly recommend http://www.marinediscovery.co.uk/index.html

There's a similar set-up in Falmouth. I keep promising myself a trip on
their boat but have never got round to it. Lethargy, I suppose!

Same temperature here in Stithians. Very few glimpses of the sun.

I think the waterproof would now be very sensible. Sorry MCC, but the
fist day of the Stithians show looks like it will be a wet one!

Not going to the Minack now: otherwise engaged (not because of the
weather forecast!).

Well, time will be the judge, but at the moment I'm sticking by my
forecast
May be a tad warmer than I 1st thought, but rain should hold off 'til
after the show.

Oh, the fist (1st?) day is also the last day - it being a 1 day show &
all that!

You might be right Graham, looking at the "Spotlight" forecast
tonight. They might just get lucky with the rain!
