A dry, warm and generally sunny afternoon with impressive, towering
cumulonimbus further inland and to the west, rumbling away. A max of 23.0°C this afternoon in the sunshine after a cool start with a minimum of just 10.4°C. Had a trip up to Tiverton and on the way an almighty rainstorm made driving rather hazardous and slow going. Sunshine levels have been suffering a bit lately, now up to only 150 hours though we should easily make 200+ hours if the forecast is to be believed for the rest of the month. Rainfall now just about at the average with 41 mm. Temperatures so far above average with a mean max of 23.0 °C, mean min: 13.1°C; overall mean: 18.0°C. (19:20), 19.2°C, RH 63%, DP 12.8°C, 1013 hPa (R), Wind 3 mph N. _____________________ Nick Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |

Just noticed an interesting change in wind direction whilst uploading
today's data from the Davis AWS. All day the wind has been off the sea, i.e., sea breeze direction of SSE then it suddenly switched to a northerly at 18:45 with a subsequent drop in temperature from 21.3°C to 19.4°C in 15 minutes, but no rain fell. There was also a distinct drop in DP from 13.7°C to 12.1°C in 15 minutes as well. Air now feeling much cooler after the muggy, warm conditions of earlier on. (19:45), 17.6°C, RH 70%, DP 12.1°C, 1014 hPa (R), Wind 1 mph NNW. _____________________ Nick Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk "Nick Gardner" wrote in message ...
