Default dull, dull, dull

With only 6 days remaining this July is on track to be the dullest since
1980, which was the dullest on record here with around 96 hours!

Despite the bright forecast we again had only 0.9 hours today!

Up to the today (25th) I've recorded 81 hours, just 49% of the average.

The July mean temperature is 0.3c above the 1971-2000 average, due to the
cloud cover giving us warmer nights.

Top temperature this month so far 24c, so nothing special and the warmest
day of the year so far 26.0c, on the 23rd May!!

Hi, Graham,
Same here, but that's the Copley summer, some months it's warm and
sunny, this month it isn't!
Mean temperatures reflect the cloudy conditions. July stats so far,
Mean max 18.6C(-0.4C) Mean min 10.7C(+1.0C) Mean 14.7(+0.3C)
Highest max so far, as with you, was in May at 27.7C and just 23.5C
since.
Rainfall June 73.1mm(107%) July so far 95.6mm(159%)
A sunny June 211.6hr(107%) has been followed by this dull July with
107.4hr (61%) so far.
Swings and roundabouts - A fine August to come??

An interestingly dull day here with mean cloud amount 7 to 8
oktas. Sc lacunosus and hints of mammatus here at 1630Z and becoming
pretty dark and gloomy. The temperature rose from 23 to 24 with the
advent of this thick Sc before falling back soon after. There was no
sunshine.

We had quite bit of sunshine up until 1530Z, with two fairly large
clearances - enough for me to go topless and sit in the chair! Tx 25.5c

Hi, Tudor,
Someone from the deep south exaggerating about the weather, you do
surprise me!
Big sis lives in Slough and No.2 son in Wanstead so I'm not unfamiliar
with the concept (;0)

Ah well, never mind. I lived just outside Swindon for a while.

19.6C at 09:00 - notable only because itr's the highest 09:00 reading
this month so far. Warm night - min 16.9C

Sunny here, but rather different on Scilly http://www.tregarthens-hotel.co.uk/webcam-islands.php
so no flights. Don't think it will last long.

Another overcast morning here (Southampton) - this is turning into a
really disappointing high; indeed the weather's no better than it was
last week under the supposed changeable spell. I'm wondering if even
southeast England will fall short of average sunshine this month?

Brilliant sunshine and cumulus here. Woolly sheep sky. Breezy, but
glorious.

Spent the w/e at Broadhembury in the Blackdown Hills. Was pretty grey and
drizzly for Friday/Saturday, but Sunday was as described above. Shame to
have to leave it all behind for the obligatory drag up the A303.

I hope so Ken!

No sun hours yesterday and just 2 hours today, total for the month so far,
83.1 hours!!
Dullest July on record 96.1 hours in 1980.
With rather cloudy weather forecast for the next few days we could really
struggle to get near 96.1 hours!
