Default [WR]West Moors/E.Dorset ... 3 day rainfall

.... for the three 'rain-days' 29th, 30th Sep., and 1st Oct together =
45 mm. More to come: if you believe the GFES ensemble output then over
the coming 48 hours, we've got at least 30 mm.

Martin.

Martin, If I include 28/09, I get to 86.8mm. That's 14.7, 9.1, 38.1 and
24.9. That's quite a wet month's rain in four days. And more to come, as
you say.

Off down the natural drains of the Mendips tomorrow....
a decent amount of water improves the air quality in some of the areas
close to the streamway I am in.
Steady rain is OK but convective stuff in the summer is the one to
watch.
Anyone any idea what MIGHT be up with my AWS collector at work apart
from the obvious summat in the collector?

Judging by the echoes it could be a REALLY wet night

Sometimes strong wind can blow the ppn horizontally across the top of
the collector, that is if the collector is at head height, like mine.

But they always seem to underread even in the best of conditions. See my
website for a comparison between AWS and standard 5in:

..... Can you give us some more details? We need to know what the
telemetry method is (wireless or wired), how it's powered, what other
equipment and / or 'human' influences are nearby; also how long has
the failure lasted, and were there any ' warning ' outages in previous
weeks / months ...
