2000Z ... just a few flakes - no impact surfaces/visibility. .... 2100Z ... lengthy period since above of NIL PPN, but recently started up again: still slight; larger flakes now .. no impact surfaces/visibility. OAT dropped from 1.7°C at 20Z to current 1.3°C. Martin. -- Martin Rowley West Moors, East Dorset (UK): 17m (56ft) amsl Lat: 50.82N Long: 01.88W NGR: SU 082 023 |

The radar has pepped up a colour recently but it is nearly passed I think. The remarkable thing is that the Tuesday event seems to have disappeared from the charts ( FNMOC for me) - which to me is incredible. Must be very tricky to forecast therefore. Will seems to refering to it ( or something) still R |

Will seems to refering to it ( or something) still .... it's back to a certain extent on the EC 12Z OP, which model is, averaged over a reasonable period, consistently better than most. 'Testing the forecasters nerve' is a phrase that was used in another context many years ago ... and probably applies this time around. A lot of shuffling to and fro yet. PPN ceased about 15 mins ago; surfaces damp but otherwise no impact (though the dampness will be important of course as temperatures are easing down .. OAT now +1.0°C .. and cloud will thin/clear progressively from a couple of hours time). Hold it! Changed my mind! Just noted a rotation appearing (on the radar) to start in the Channe ( I think that is what you are refering to?)l and I am now wondering if this will throw up an arc during the early hours over the coast roughly where we are. The charts I look at on the soaring site do give a shallow low. I note Will has suggested that low 'will be back!'. Anyway I am packing everything into the car as must leave Dorset at noon no matter what. R It is 'still' but possibly not as 'still' as Evershot appears to be recently..... |

Even the surfaces dried off to a large extent, so road ice not really a problem. Equivalent PPN (0.1 mm/just).
