Default Tales of Yore

A nearby Old Wife tells me:

"If there's ice in November, that will bear a duck,
there will be nothing after but sludge and muck."

By which I think she means, such cold in November is often followed by a
mild winter. Well, the ducks in Gt Massingham (Norfolk) were most
definately standing on the ice this morning.

Clever lot, those old wives. Here's hoping...
