Default Odd temperature change - Coastal Co Durham

1730 GMT - house thermometer (probably pretty accurate, probably a
decent air temp) -1
On way to Church car (Mitsubishi) -2

After church

19:00 - Car +2
House air temp +2.7

Roads noticably thawed - even where there hasn't been gritting.

Co Durham, Trimdon. 130m ASL, about 8km from coast.

Eh?

Warmer air off the sea I suppose...

Hi, Andrew,
Wind has veered, coming off the much warmer sea. Expect rain/sleet at
the coast now.
Up to -0.4C here (250m), so freezing level moving higher and further
from the coast. I don't think this has been emphasised enough for
lowland eastern counties - the North sea is still quite warm.
