We had more snow overnight up here in Stithians and then at about 0700 the
thunder and lightning started with hail, sleet and snow.
It knocked my power off twice but only briefly but I decided not to switch
the computer back on until I couldn't hear any more rumbles of thunder or
see flashes of lightning. The storm took 2 hours and more to pass.

There are reports in the local paper of a 'tornado' or 'water spout' in
Falmouth Bay.

It's snowing again now with temperature at freezing point.

A30 gridlocked near the Chiverton Roundabout (Truro turn) cars
abandoned near Stithians. Reports of 10cm of fresh snow on the higher
parts of the Helston-Penzance road.

Very little snow now in Penzance, as it keeps turning to sleet, and is
now washing away the pre existing icy layer. The much higher dewpoint
causing quite a rapid thaw. However I've been up to Madron (1 mile
north of Penzance) to take some photos, and had to abandon the
journey. There's a very sudden change at about 100m. North of Madron
the road is virtually impassable, with 5cm of fresh snow on top of
sheet ice from Friday nights fall.

Good cover of snow down to the beaches on the north coast

Slideshow of Pics at http://www.thisiscornwall.co.uk/gall...l/gallery.html

When did Cornwall last see conditions like this in November? On the
moors perhaps, but not right on the coast. 3rd consecutive day with my
garden snow covered.

Snowing very heavily in Penzance again, and settling more now after
the moring thaw.
