Default Shame it's clouding over - record low?

It's already -4.6C at 6pm. Haven't seen that low a temp at 6pm for many
a long year - shame the cloud will soon roll in as it might have been a
record. May beat last night's -5.8C though
Dave

Yes Dave got home from work for the afternoon the car thermometer was still
minus two c. Around 3:30 went up the shed (tried to avoid it) and it was
like a frigid pristine wonderland. The clouds had cleared and the
temperature was bitingly cold with the snow adding that light that only a
snow covering can; it reminded me of December 1981 after the initial
snowfall which was on the 8/9th when we had that Shawberry -25c temp on the
13th December, that same intensity of cold. as you say if the sky stays
clear it will get very low tonight.

I should've said record low for me, which isn't saying much as I only
have them for three years, although nothing much to beat in previous ten
I wouldn't have thought.
BTW - what's happened to your LDl's radio thermometer. Mine and Ron's
still going strong!

I don't think you'll get anywhere near it, Dave. It was -6°C
here at 6 pm and it has started to rise sharply, now -2.5°C with a
southerly breeze picking up. The minimum has already passed.
