Default Coldest night since 1981

Last night the minimum temperature fell to -10.2C in Coventry, making
this the coldest November night since 13th December 1981 (-16.1C).

Meanwhile, today the maximum reached -1.8C - this was the coldest
December day since in the city since 1995 (-3.4C).

Interesting times!

Steve,
Birmingham Winterbourne also interesting:

Coldest nights on record (since 1881) for:
28 November (-9.0C)
29 November (-8.7C)
3 December (-9.6C)
4 December (-9.1C)
6 December (-7.7C)
7 December (-11.2C)

Coldest days on record (since 1881) for:
28 November (-2.6C)
29 November (-0.1C - equels 1890)
1 December (-1.0C)
7 December (-1.4C)

At least Birmingham was in the sun today - down in Droitwich under the fog
barely reached -3C, with my surface digital thermometer reading -8.0C at
4pm!

Just out of interest - as I lived there then but wasn't yet recording -
what were the lows in February 1986 and January 1987? Presumably it
was even colder then?

Been an interesting day here in Leicester. Min at 8am was -9.4C. Max
-1.8C.

But shortly after sunset the temperature started to rise and some fog
formed, reaching almost -2C at 9pm, but is now falling again under a
clear sky. Pressure rising slowly throughout. Interesting!
