Not liking the look of the end of the month according to recent models
(GFS and ECM) - the former seems to suggest a dire non-cold cyclonic nightmare for all parts: not particularly mild, it's true, but not cold enough for snow or settled enough for frost either. Precisely the sort of weather that makes an average northwestern European early winter a trial in many years... ECM only goes out to Christmas Day but seems to hint on the same sort of thing starting to happen then. Then there's Joe B's comments (I don't particularly agree with his take on GW, but he does seem to get these sorts of medium term forecasts right). However the Met Office is still going with cold weather out to the end. So any hope for the end of the month or is it all over for the moment after Christmas Day, albeit with the possibility of a return in the new year? Nick |
