Came across some interesting verification data last night that for the first
time put the Met Office GM (Global Model) at the top of the global model verification tree with EC in 2nd place. IIRC, the JMA was 3rd and the French Arpege behind it. Can't remember where the GFS was.. Jon. |

Most of the models have performed well over the past month to 5/6 days, though there are some notable errors. ECM out in front by a nose. gfs probably second, UKMO just third, but there's very little to choose between those 3. http://www.emc.ncep.noaa.gov/gmb/STATS/STATS.html |
