Default How widespread is the thaw and is it temporary?

I noticed a station in North Norfolk that had -9.8C overnight is now at
1.5C and almost up to 2C down here now. DP's above freezing as well. As
it wasn't forecast is it just a small warm sector passing through or
will any forecast snow fall as rain, in the South anyway?

I'm guessing the Weatheronline wet-bulb zero level will help here,
shows quite nicely where the wet bulb zero level is close to the
ground. Thaw into Wednesday and then freezing again?

I'm sure Bernard, Martin, Will et al. can elucidate further, not my
area !

It reached 0.3C here today, now 0.2C resulting in a few dips from the
gutters as the warmth escaping from the house melts snow.

Looks temporary to me, based on GFS data anyway:

Presently, 850mb temps are around -3C in the extreme SE and dewpoints
as high as 4C:

By tomorrow evening both look rather colder although DPs in E Anglia
still seem a bit dodgy:

Yes - we have a warm easterly again! It's all fairly obvious from
Richard's chart what's happening at the moment. Continental air ain't
what it used to be - they rely on us these days for the cold from the west!

Above zero for the first time in days - it feels positively mild out
there, at a dizzy +1. DP is MS2, so still feels ok - not that raw, damp
cold. Couple of plumbing issues have revealed themselves; related to
outside plumbing such as waste and overflow pipes getting blocked with ice.

Not out of the woods yet though. Look East forecast (Sorry Alex, but you
make a much better general purpose presenter than you do a weather girl)
suggested some possible snow tonight, and Christmas looks icy and foggy
to me.

Pleeeeze can it warm up soon?

I know Chris. Getting desperate for some mild rain and the central
heating off! No higher than 1.4C in Teignmouth today and a very slow
thaw. Back to freezing again tonight.
