The temperature in Pontrhydygroes has just risen above freezing, for the
first time since 18th December. A beautiful sunny day, with still around
7" snow lying.

Having just risen above freezing for the first time in 5 days, it has
now cooled to just below, and is snowing. It's light. But it is the
first snowfall for a while.

I heard on Radio Wales that Aberystwyth (did they mean Trawsgoed?) went
down to -11°C last night. What a difference a few miles and a couple of
hundred metres makes; only -5.6°C here.

Trawsgoed minimum in the 06.00 SYNOP was -11.8°C.
