As has been mentioned on here before, the southeast of England seems to be
leading a charmed life as far as temperatures are concerned. Whilst the north ,especially Scotland and Northern Ireland are experiencing mind blowing lows ,down here we've scarcely had a frost ,on low ground at least ,since Monday. The same north/south differences are occuring on the Continent, which may explain why even with a strong north east wind we are getting away with it at the moment, but looking at Scandinavia now ,Finland especially ,(Helsinki tonight minus 23c),if that potential High builds after Christmas (come on Will) will that open the flood gates into eastern England ? All of this of course will go belly up if the Atlantic stuff can get far enough across.... Ain't weather fascinating ?,plenty of room for Joe ,Piers, even Dawlish to put in their two pennoth when they have something to say ,after all we Brits love a loser ! Happy Christmas all RonB |
