There are a number of factors contributing to this sunless southern
winter but one thing I have noticed is the preponderance of cloudy frontal clearances. After the rain there have been few occurences of broken cumulus and sunny periods as I consider the norm but many leading to some form of stratus leaving grey damp weather hanging around. Is this due to more fronts becoming occluded than usual or the leading edge halting against the colder continental air, although surely the latter is common in winter? Dave |
