A peculiar day that began with strong sunshine and little more
than wispy cirrus. Clouds gathering to the northwest led to a
period of rain 1135Z to 1310Z including 5 mins of heavy rain.

The sun broke through as the rain was ceasing but this merely
served to encourage a rapid build-up of Cb with swirling scud
being sucked up into their darkening bases.

A shower ensued with an 11 minute spell of mainly small hail
measuring up to 5mm diameter. We're now back to square 2
with a spell of rain falling from a featureless grey. The air
can't decide whether to be stable or unstable.
