Been slow here for a few days and, yes, I'm with VM. Cretins there think
fora are wonderful and can't understand why we would want to use newsgroups.

I've also had a couple of days with web connection stopping altogether.
Looks like I'll have to go onto their forum (yeuch!) and complain.

Yes, similar problem *for a few days (Virgin isp). However the problem is
inconsistent as usw *downloaded quickly just now.


As I understand it, Virgin's new "protocol-specific" throttling
management system affects both text and binary Usenet newsgroups
indiscriminately between 5 pm and midnight on weekdays and noon to
midnight at weekends. Consequently, slow downloads may be more
noticeable at certain times.


Seems odd a cable network borking anything. What reason do they give?
