Nothern Polar spring 2011 Ozone reduction - almost a Ozone Hole - breaking up ?
Will UV be higher Spring/Summer 2011 ?
An unusual Northern Polar Stratospheric "Ozone" dip may be beginning to break up see latest http://exp-studies.tor.ec.gc.ca/ozon...ev/current.gif 50 hPa temperatures have been low enough for long enough for depletion see zonal mins at 50 hPa http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/product...e/50mbnhlo.gif GFS forecast Ozone retains large area below 300 DU (roughly more than 30 percent reduction) although above the nominal 220 DU value used to define Ozone hole over S Pole. |
