Pretty decent day all day yesterday in the Southampton area, better
than expected in the morning, with mid level (As) cloud, brightness and occasional sun throughout the day. After forecasts of sun and showers today, I'd been expecting a bright start but instead we get low cloud and mist. Doubly surprising given the clearness of the air late yesterday, as late as 2300BST Sirius seemed unusually bright low in the southwest. Was planning on an early start for a walk today to try and get some distance before the showers start, but on seeing this I think I'll take my chances and start later! Nick |

Really grotty here near Worthing after a sunny start the low stratus and fog
came in rapidly mid morning and that was that, now at 15.00 just low stratus no breaks and dull. R "Nick" wrote in message ... Nick Just back from a 14 mile stroll on Dartmoor. Ok apart from a soaking shower late this afternoon. But then the sun came out and dried us. Couldn't be arsed to put waterproof bottoms on :-) Light was stunning when the sun came out with rocks and Tors standing out with great clarity - a magic moment one gets on most longish walks.
