Well, it didn't work for her Coronation in 1953 - IIRC it turned out to
be one of the coldest June days on record?

And the Silver Jubilee in 1977 was also pretty dire.
Don't recall the weather at Golden Jubilee in 2003
so it probably wasn't anything out of the ordinary.

I think the Saturday (particularly) and the Sunday were notably good -
a short hot spell in a pretty dire May/early June - then the Mon and
Tues were both cool and cloudy, but dry, following a cold front. This
is for Hampshire.

It's lucky it was changed that year, as the "normal" May bank holiday
weekend was dire to say the least IIRC. Of course, what will probably
happen this time is following a good last weekend and good this
weekend, Easter and the Royal Wedding/May Day holiday will both be
cool and changeable!

Indeed, and here is a rather old page I prepared some time ago

George, the coronation was on 2nd June, not the 3rd. So I assume there is
an error somewhere along the chain.

Like George, I'd always understand that it was 3rd June, but checking in
Wikipedia that says the 2nd, both in its Elizabeth II article and in
"List of coronations of British monarchs".

Well spotted Roger. I have added a correction to the page. I was 6 years old
at the time and living on the Durham coast. I remember a cold, cloudy and
blustery day-mind you there plenty of them on that coast. Another highlight
of the 2nd was my father listening to the wireless and hearing the
announcement that Everest had been conquered.

All the best
