I've been in a couple in the Middle East. Impressive but
uncomfortable. Sand gets deeper into parts of your anatomy than you
would think possible.

My cousin, who lives in Casa Grande, Arizona (roughly halfway between
Phoenix and Tucson) said the weather there is really nasty just now.

When I was at sea and on a ship anchored in Port Said waiting to transit
the Suez Canal we were hit by a sandstorm which forced us to close down all
ventilation. Not a pleasant experience.

Max at Phoenix Sky Harbor airfield (72278) on Tuesday was 42C,
preceded by 47C on Saturday.

Gusts of 53mph in the evening.
