Default Penzance, bright, dry & humid.

Patchy misty low cloud with the sun mostly visible through it this
morning. At 11:30 18.5C with a 16C dewpoint, so a very different feel
to yesterday..

Misty over hills and coasts exposed to the wind, with some warm
sunshine in sheltered spots along the south coast. E.g. Mousehole this
morning.

Last nights minimum 13.9C

Sunny here in Penzance this afternoon, max 20.8C so far with a
dewpoint topping a very sticky, 17C at one point. A lovely large
stationary hole in the cloud over Mousehole/Newlyn/Penzance as the air
descends.

Sea fog on the north coast, so only around 15-16 at Camborne & St
Ives. (Go to the MetO site, choose Penzance forecast, then click
recent weather, and you get something dramatically different to
reality, 5C or so colder, i.e Camborne)

Actually, a question regarding sea fog. Why is the visibility nearly
always so good (typically 20miles) a few hundred yard away from a sea
fog bank, and the light so blue. E.g. you can be on the cliff top near
Land's End when Scilly is clearly visible whenever there's a gap in
the coastal fog bank. I've had a couple of not totally convincing
explanations in the past. In a similar vein, over the sea, it's often
calm in the fog bank, calm in the sunshine, but quite windy right on
the edge of the fog bank. I assume this is associated with the sharp
temperature gradient over a few hundred yards.

4 consecutive mainly sunny afternoons are starting to make up for the
previous 4 days weather.
