Default Pessimistic Outlooks

I do get rather depressed reading the MetO Outlooks when it frequently
mentions 'longer periods of rain'. I accept it does say that the South
and East will be 'brighter and warmer at times' but this appears small
consolation from the headlining 'Unsettled and wet with showers and
longer periods of rain'

From the EC and GFS progs that I can see it looks quite a summery
outlook...
So perhaps it ought to say Summery and warm with just the odd shower
possible in the SE with perhaps some wetter spells in the North...
:-)
