Oh dear, having watched this morning's forecast I assured my daughter
that it would be dry with perhaps some very light rain at the V-Festival
at Chelmsford this afternoon. The rain has apparently decided not to go
to the Midlands after all but is torrential in Chelmsford! There's gonna
be trouble ;-(

Dave,
Should have looked at the radar, not the forecast, looked a dead cert.....

It has always disappointed me greatly that the Met Office has not used the BBC
News Channel to provide a nowcasting service. That would be much more useful
than just plugging away with the same, often rather out of date, story all the
time. Perhaps a new 2-3 day forecast, say, every 3 hours and use the other
slots for nowcasting

I did Phil, at about 10 am and estimated it's track, plus the forecast
at that time saying it would go through the Midlands and be light rain
getting into East Anglia. I thought the heavy stuff would glance to the
west of Chelmsford. Should have done my time lapse ruler on the screen job!

How right you are Norman. I'm surprised that the MO doesn't insist on
it. Hardly any good for their endlessly battered reputation is it?.

Hello Dave.
Yes. Moved here in January. I moved to Southend from Warlingham in Surrey
and found it too noisy and busy for me. Had some fantastic snowfall there
over the last two winters though. Back to the countryside and closer to
London for commuting.
