Well, they stopped getting midnight sun on 24th August.
The sun now only gets to about 20 degrees above the horizon at noon
(roughly equivalent to Dec/Jan in the UK).

Radiative cooling is a slow steady process. Modulated by synoptics, wind
direction and cloud cover.
