I guess I spoke too soon. The last three days have seen a dramatic change
around here. All the beech trees have suddenly changed a vivid yellow colour, and the ground is fast becoming covered with this year's droppings. The Canadian Maple in my front garden, together with the majority of trees in the area, are still green, though the wind and rain are slowly stripping them bare. Yes, we've had some real rain here at last, 9.3mm for the day, which is the highest daily total since the 8th May (15.3mm), and actually the second highest of the year. jim, Northampton |
