After yesterday's lovely sunshine today was a such a contrast with its
dull, sunless conditions, giving an overall cold feel. Not much wind about but what wind there was made it feel quite raw at times when I was out on a site visit for most of the afternoon near the Exe Estuary. Temperatures struggled until mid-morning after a chilly start with a min of just 2.7°C, and for most of the day the temperature was around 8°C to 9°C. This makes it the coldest day for rather long time, since the 18th March to be exact (max of 9.7°C). Temp now slowly rising under a thick layer of cloud. It certainly won't be as cold as last night when I nearly recorded my first grass frost of the season (grass min of 0.9°C). Despite today's colder than average temperatures, the first week of this month has been a warm one. (1st - 7th mean temps) Min = 8.0°C Max = 13.7°C Mean = 10.9°C Rain = 29.9 mm Sun = 23.1 hours. (20:00), 9.6°C, RH 92%, DP 8.4°C, 1017 hPa, Wind 5 mph NE. ____________________________ Nick G Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
