Default Dog helps lightning strike Redruth mayor

I came across this on the site I have my blog:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-15480264

Initially I thought some good had come from the Met Office moving down
there. I even contemplated moving there myself to help find and train
other dogs with such political savvy.

Then I read the bad news.

Since when has the MetO moved to Cornwall? I was under the impression
they were well 100miles from Redruth up in some English city (Exeter
or something)

You think a mere 100 miles is a great distance?

This had me really puzzled. I was trying to work out how or why a dog would
help the lightning strike someone. Not WL's fault, it's the way the
headline's worded.

Funny, that's what I said.
Very funny. Not for the poor bloke involved but you have to laugh.
Well don't you?

For the loss of a hyphen, the sense was lost.
