Tonight at 9-00PM BBC1 Will -- oooooo yes, thank you for reminding me! I'd advise anyone to watch it. Last week's episode was quite breathtaking. GW is bound to be mentioned at some stage, as the recent Arctic warmth has accelerated the melting in the summer and delayed the freeze, thus keeping far more summer open water than at any time in the satellite record and probably for much longer before. It would be difficult to run a programme called "Frozen Planet" and not discuss recent changes in snow and ice extent. If they discuss the differences between the Arctic and Antarctic climates in detail and how this affects their respective sea ice cover, it could be very informative for some - if they don't switch off to ensure they don't learn anything new. *)) |
