Default Ridges and troughs and etc

I seem to have the gist of these now. I can't think why it took me so
long to drop on it.

When the time of the phase of the moon is near enough on the half hour
the chances of a ridge or trough are very strong. Silly me!

Only problem is I seem to be heading for another compulsive mania with
the Shipping Broadcast as the only decent one is at 05:35. Damn the
beeb to hell and all who fail in her.

And there was me thinking that ridges and troughs were to do with
rising and falling pressure. Silly me!

Me too. Are you sure they aren't?

But they are nothing to do with the phases of the moon.
What data do you have to support this claim?

The beeb in all its glory has # up the shipping broadcasts. Not
realising the stuff they put out contains a miasma of interesting
stuff they ditched everything except for in the early morning and late
night spots.

This is a good thing for me as I got hooked on collecting them at one
time. A bit like some of the poor sods on here. Thank God I never had
a computer then.

As for the rest of it. I merely explain the why of it as well as the
time of it. Contemporary weathermen are merely producing 5 day "what
and where's" of it. Extrememly accurate and fundamentally useful but
not for anyone who needs long term results.

Knowing what air pressures will be from what the air pressures are is
a very short term fix. It produces no input from the causes at the
start of it all. If on the other hand there is an overall cause and
control then you would expect to find its source is not in chaotic
theorems etc wouldn't you?

I'm still learning the for want of a better word "parameters" of these
riges and stuff.

No data at all but then I just do it all on the back of an envelope as
it were. (As a matter of interest, I don't suppose that anyone has kept
track of how I'm doing so far this year with my version of lunacy?)

I'm about to unleash the forecast for next year on an unsuspecting
public. Should be good for a few laughs. Get ready with some cheap ones
at my expense.
