Default snow lying, or not, as the case may be!

As a follow up to the lament about the lack of snow days in Coventry
during 2011 so far, it should be no surprise to find that we have not
recorded any snowlying this year at all so far, for what may be the
first time in the city since 1998; as a contrast in 2010, snow was
lying on the ground on 36 mornings, while in 1979 there was a record
of 57 days with snowlying.

Mind you, I'm not personally complaining, but the pupils at Bablake
are desperate for a 'snow day', aka a day off school!

Tell them that I only managed one such day in my whole school career,
which included the famous winter of 1962-3. So they should think
themselves lucky.
