A cold and thoroughly unpleasant day in the Spanish capital.
Fog led to problems at the city's Barajas airport, and the FC Barcelona team
flying in for last night's 'clasico' match against Real Madrid were delayed
by 1 hour.

Didn't seem to affect them much as they still managed to win 3-1.
The weather did affect the playing surface which was very slippery due to
heavy rain just before kick-off.

Hadn't realised how cold Madrid was yesterday, I imagine there must be
snow in the hills now? Navacerrada(1894m)?

Yes, Keith. A light covering above about 1500m.
A pretty sight from the outskirts of Madrid
(but not yesterday with so much fog).
