.... I know I shouldn't be surprised after all these years, but an
interesting event at 0900 demonstrates why for me meteorology is so
fascinating ...

Out to do the 0900 ob: blue sky everywhere ... strong (but low angle)
sunshine ... cloud noted as trace Cu fra, 1 Sc Cugen, 1Ci spi, distant
(over Channel to south/downwind of us at all levels) Cu con .... and a
slight rain shower, sufficient to dampen the gauge funnel and get my
notebook damp!

I could just about make out a patch of 'fuzziness' downwind that was
probably the decaying earlier Cu that produced the PPN, but if that was
it, and at one time it must have been sufficiently deep and vigorous to
generate PPN, it had decayed very rapidly.
