Default uk.sci.weather slow delivery

Despite looking on here over the last couple of days there were still
262 messages which had arrived overnight, dated 5th, 6th and today. The
random delivery process is actually quite amusing as you now see the
missing bits of threads which helps to make more sense of things.
I blame the snow.
Snow flurries earlier this morning by the way

Hi George - I was literally about to type the same when this came
through! Is it just the Virginmedia News connection? I wondered why
there wasn't much activity during the snow fall and none from Lawrence!

All the posts have been coming through thick and fast (at least 5 cm deep!)
here. I also use news.individual, with BT ISP. Looks like a problem with
your ISP George.

I got a couple of hundred this morning dated 4th, 5th and 6th. I use
news.individual.net.

I think you'll find the late deliveries are all down to Google failing
again. Luckily, this newsreader has a "mark as read by date" button so I
didn't have to plough through all the late deliveries.

I think it was a problem with posts made via Googlegroups not
propagating to the outside world. But the plus has now been pulled, and
about four days worth have arrived all at once.

Thanks for the all the useful replies. The ISP is Virginmedia although
I'm one of the earlier ntlworld.com subscribers. I use Thunderbird with
NewsIndividual from Berlin. Most of the time it seems to work well
although I still find Thunderbird a little unpredictable at times.
Another more general (not just me) problem has emerged with Virginmedia.
Some e-mails sent to me are not arriving. It is worth checking the Spam
Folder at the ISP server for these non arrivals. As far as the possible
non-arrival of mail you have sent it's a case of judging the moment to
send a 'did you get my message' message. Not at all keen on including
the Return Receipt option as it invariably brings out the worst in me.

Back to the weather. A glorious morning now with not a cloud in the sky,
temperature +0.2, and snow covered fields positively gleaming.
