Yes, February back to it's normal self, after a two week cold spell, mild
weather returns.
It's looking like a mild end to what's really been a mild winter.
Ah well, at least Spring is just around the corner

But will it be mild enough to bring the monthly average back up to
near-normal?

Yes, I'd rate this winter as rather unexciting overall (Hampshire),
aside from the 29th Jan - 12th Feb period. However it hasn't been
actually that unpleasant overall due to the mildness being frequently
accompanied by low humidity meaning less damp, gloomy days than might
be expected - except December which down here was a pretty unpleasant
month.

The latest GFS suggests more of the same down here - mild and fairly
dry, which isn't as exciting as cold, but could be worse.

What's near-normal, really? Within 0.5C, or 1.0C of the mean? Unlikely
for the CET, unless it is record-breakingly mild in the coming mT air
- but there really is some very mild air on the way next week.

CET: (Feb 1-15): 0.5°C (-3.9 degC)

E&W Rain: (Feb 1-15): 18.6mm ( 53 per cent)

E&W Sun: (Feb 1-15): 42.7hr (110 per cent)
