1030

Cloudy, misty, occasional very light drizzle.
Temp+8.8C with very little wind.

Saw the mist come down Haldon Hill to my east around 0930ish to envelope
Teignmouth and the coast for a while. Cannot see anything looking that
way now except cloud, don't know how far it stretches. Quite clear up
here at present with a deck of higher level cloud.

Primroses coming out in abundance and snowdrops. Bit early for daffs but
they are growing now and forming buds. However, my camellias are starting
to open and will be stunning next week with masses of bud. Grass is still
dormant - thank goodness.

Strangely quiet this morning (even for up here), not a sound, not even a
bird, I could almost hear my self breathing ... bit more noise now with
some of the locals shouting to each other across the paddock!

1155

Temp +10.0C.
Still a lot of cloud but now some blue sky and a few sunny intervals
making it feel very sticky with no wind.
Fog over Haldon summit (circa 280m asl) and a lot of cloud generally
towards the coastnear Teignmouth. The high moor is predominantly cloudy.
Drizzle has stopped and hard surfaces are starting to dry.

1750

Afternoon turned out to be quite sunny. Now under clear skies temperature is
falling smartly.
Now +6.8C. Max. +10.8C.
A good day for hacking in the garden.

Hi Will,
Fine afternoon here too, with a max of 11.3 (highest of the month), but ST
reformed at BASE 300 FT soon after 1730, with a rapid increase to 7 oktas by
1800 with BASE lowering close to the surface with associated rapid fall in
visibility to 500 m in fog by 1835.
