We're certainly racking up the number of days with thunder
audible this year. Distant rumbles of thunder heard to the
southeast of Romsey from 1435Z to 1455Z today, signals
our fourth consecutive day of thunder. The core of today's
storm was just the 'other side' (southeast) of Southampton,
pinpointed by my No.1 daughter who was in the city at the
time and reported forked lightning with loud thunder.

It remained quite sunny while the rain was falling (1440Z to
1510Z) but never enough to moisten the ground.
