Are there barographs available which plot the first derivative of the pressure
with respect to time, and would such a plot be useful alongside the pressure signal itself? I have developed a barograph which is is capable of such things, but I wonder what the most useful printout might be. The current state of the art is visible at http://www.meteormetrics.com and I would welcome comment, especially if there is a useful parameter I could calculate and include on future versions. Thanks Kevin Scott |

It would plot the rate of change of pressure. Ah! Can't recall ever seeing much more than 4-5mb an hour myself. -- Paul Hyett, Cheltenham, England |

If you watch at higher than usual resolution there are sometimes some very fast small changes, e.g., a sudden tweak about half minute to a minute before a rainstorm starts, and another before it stops. If we ever get one of those again, I'll let you know. ![]() -- Paul Hyett, Cheltenham Email to pahyett[AT]activist[DOT]demon[DOT]co[DOT]uk |
