1200z: 26012KT 30km 3CU018 (1SC060) 7CI250 7.9/5.0 QFF 991.9 falling.
SYNOP: 11480 72612 10079 20050 49919 55004 60051 70181 83802 91200 333 83818 87075= Showers continued to just before 1030z. Since then there has been a steady reduction of convective vertical devlopment, together with an increase of high cloud. I'm assuming some sort of change has occurred high in the troposphere - maybe an upper trough has gone through? Looking on the radar, there has been a dramatic decrease in convective activity over a large area bounded by north Cheshire in the north to Ludlow in the south, and extending from the Welsh border towards Leicestershire. Whatever has caused it, it is now a much more pleasant day than this time yesterday. -- Freddie Bayston Hill Shropshire 102m AMSL http://www.hosiene.co.uk/weather/cumulus/ https://twitter.com/#!/BaystonHillWx for hourly reports |
