Default cloud swathe over southern France

Sitting currently under a low grey sky in southwestern France, I looked
at the satellite cloud picture and saw a great scarf of cloud stretching
from approximately the Pyrenees towards the north. It was even more
pronounced the other day. Is this a kind of orogenic cloud?

I wish it would go away.
