Default Not just the UK suffering from flooding

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-18751198

"At least 78 people have been killed after torrential rains leading to
flash floods swept through parts of the south Russian Krasnodar region.

Reports said the floods came at night without warning, catching local
residents by surprise.

Crude oil shipments from the Black Sea port of Novorossiisk have suspended.

Officials say emergency teams have been sent from Moscow by plane and
helicopter.

Television pictures showed people scrambling onto their rooftops to escape.

At least 67 people including a 10-year-old boy died in the town of
Krymsk, at least nine in Gelendzhik and two in Novorossiisk.

Hundreds of properties have been flooded and the Krasnodar-Novorossiisk
road was cut. The transport system in the region is said to have collapsed.

A statement by the Krasnodar regional administration said altogether
13,000 people had been affected by the floods."

You seem to be in the know. Can you tell me which parts of Britain
have been devastated by flooding in the last few day, Now we know the
main stream media exaggerate but if we go to the font of non spun
truth ukmo would have us all building arks. So where are the floods
and how greater an area of the UK has been affected.

As I'v said UKMO had weather warnings for London and the SE
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/w...?regionName=SE

and so far three drops all day-do you really think that warrants a
yellow warning telling people to be aware of raindrops?

Adam. That's just further compounded codswallop. I want to know just
where these devasted areas of flooding were? As I believ UKMO are up
to hyperbole to say the least.

Did you get that? Just give me the flood areas and not some silly
bugger cop out by directing me to google.

"what regions of the UK were affected by floods in summer 2012?"

Further refining means a county by county search.

You can then post your research online so it becomes a useful service
that nobody else has thought to bother with.

Wouldn't that be more constructive than what you are asking others to
do for you?

It might also mean you have less time to kill by ranting.

==================================

Morning Lawrence. There weren't any "devastating floods" as you well know.
But there was flooding and misery and I am aware that livestock died in
Devon. Also in Devon the EA spokesman said that it would have been a lot lot
worse had it not been for the flood works undertaken over the years. I am
also convinced the the MetO warnings did help people. We should be
celebrating how well we handle flooding sistuations nowadays not knocking
the hard work of good folk all the time. Yes the warnings were overcooked in
places but they did say that there was a lot of uncertainty and that the
areas were a best shot at the time.

I don't seem to have any data for that region via the synops to see
what rainfall totals were. Both Krasnodar(33m) and Svetlograd(134m)
haven't reported for sometime and other locations in the region don't
show anything of significance, so I can only imagine it was a very
local event.
