Hi, All,
Still no 20C since May, just 63hr sun this month after 73hr in June and a near gale yesterday. Max 10min 33KT and gusting to 50mph. Haymaking has been abandoned this year for many in Teesdale and my veg. garden looking as it would in early June (will I get a crop this year?). Away to re-erect the bean poles now, just three snapped so far, and cut the grass yet again before the threatened rain arrives. The grass is loving it. Our day will come. Thank-you Bradley! Cycling was my teenage sport passion (:0) Current 23rd 08:50Z, Wind SSW 17KT(Bft 5), vis 10 miles, overcast, temp 16C dew 15C, 1017mb steady. 09Z-09Z 23rd July 2012 Copley Lead Mill 218m Max 18.6C min 12.6C Copley Met O site 253m Max 18.6C min 12.6C grass 12.4C, rain 0.0mm, sun 22nd 3.0hr Ken Copley, nr Barnard Castle, Teesdale, County Durham http://www.kencook.magix.net |

No wonder the Brits have been thriving! Roger |

Currently 20.1C even at the NCI station on top of the Island at St. Ives. Anyone who knows the area will know it's effectively a small Cape, sticking out into St Ive's Bay, almost suurounded by sea. http://www.nci-stives.org/weather/Cu...antage_Pro.htm 23.7C on St Martin's Scilly! http://www.weatherlink.com/user/tape...mary&headers=1 15 hours of sunshine at Camborne yesterday (sunniest 'official' station in the UK) after 14.2 hours Saturday. More of the same today. Graham Penzance |

It was looking dire here too regarding the 'veg', though the runners have done well as usual. And surprisingly, the toms are going well despite being flooded a couple of weekends ago. The generally sunny and warmer weather we've had since the 15th has made a big difference though. I thought the aubergines and chillies were going to be a write off but they've picked up quite dramatically recently, and are now flowering with a few fruits coming too. Unbroken sunshine here again today, third superb day in a row. Rather unusual for this summer so far. Sunshine for this month passed the 100 hours mark this afternoon, so this month should beat June's sunshine. -- Nick G Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
