By a large margin this is the earliest ground frost in the 4 autumns that we have been here. The previous earliest was 5th Oct, in 2009. 0900z NW F1-2 50+km 1Cu015 11.7/07.8 1030 RMK: A gorgeous sunny morning with scattered small Cu just starting to develop. Coldest night since +0.9 on 17th May. Coldest August night in the 4 Augusts we have been here. Indeed, it was colder even than any night in the 3 Septembers we have been here. 09-09z: Tx 13.3 (1440z) Tn +1.7 (0530z) RR trace 18-09z: Tg -1.0 00-24z: Sun 1.1 -- Norman Lynagh Tideswell, Derbyshire 303m a.s.l. |
