Default Now that's what I call interesting weather...

Sometimes I look at continental weather forecasts out of curiosity and
happened to look at meteo.fr just now.

Amazingly, areas of France (Burgundy) forecast to reach almost 25C
earlier this week are struggling to reach 5C now. Such wild
temperature swings seem more akin to spring than autumn - I can
remember this sort of thing happening often in April, but never in
October.

If only the weather systems had been 200 or 300 miles further
northeast and we'd had an Indian summer this week rather than the
endless gloom...

.... indeed Nick, this is the time of year for rapid/dramatic changes
down there - not every year admittedly but given the geography and the
'right' upper air set up then things get quite fruity; they're about to
experience a 'Genoa-low' type of development as the sharp upper trough
drives south over the still-warm Mediterranean ....

lots of 'interesting' weather!
