Glorious morning, clear air and just one or two tiny fluffy white
clouds on a blue sky. Over night low of 0.8C and a moderate ground frost still present in the shade as I type 0945. No snow, nothing for it to fall from. B-) -- Cheers Dave. pam is missing e-mail |

Liquorice writes Aren't yours hardy? ours stay out... or are you really refering to Pelargoniums? Yes, ok ok.... I'm so used to calling the indoor ones geraniums, and I know its wrong. Old habits die hard (but not the pelargoniums hopefully!) The best thing about this summer, gardening wise, has been the lack of growth on our inherited privet hedge. Its only had one proper cut this year, and will need only a light trim before winter. Bliss. Quiet here now the swallows have gone. -- Anita Evans North Cumbria (anita[at]ra.evans.clara.co.uk to reply by e-mail) |

Broke the mower on about it's second outing mid July. Have only needed to cut the grass once since then with the strimmer. In previous summers, pre-mower, I'd strim it once a fortnight. Just collected the new crankshaft for the mower from a Horticultral supplier in Carlisle. He also said that growth had be far less this year. Quiet here now the swallows have gone. Small flocks of LBJs (Little Brown Jobs) fillting about up here, one such identified as a couple of dozen Goldfinches. -- Cheers Dave. pam is missing e-mail |
