Where's a Stratwarm when you need one?

The Atlantic is looking very mobile for the foreseeable future, with the Icelandic Low & Iberian High in place, this patern looks set in stone for weeks to come.

The key to persistent zonality is the high over arctic Canada feeding cold
air south and continually reinforcing the jet. The Iberian high and
Icelandic lows are a consequence of this. Colder showery interludes will
give wintry precip. over high ground right down to the SW moors at times.
Plenty of interest, with the prospect of gales, heavy rain, line convection
etc etc .

Thanks Will for the explanation.

I hope there is a patern change soon, because the poor souls that keep getting flooded must be sick to the back teeth with all this rain.

Have a good Christmas.

Cheers D. Unfortunately I cannot see a pattern change yet but at least it
will get colder with less moisture laden Caribbean muck.

Merry Christmas to you and everyone else!

Hear, hear! I can't imagine how miserable it must be for them.

Mind you, you can get fed up with rain even if you live on top
of a hill.

Need something Will, just a change from day after day of constant grey skies
and rain, rain and more rain it's become boring now
Just another 5 mm to give us the wettest year on record here and still
needing 20 hours sunshine to avoid the dullest on record too!!

Just a cold north westerly would do me, at least it's something different
that this persistent muck!!

Anyway here's wishing you and everyone on here a very Merry Christmas

But what's causing the high over northern Canada? ;-)

Hi, Graham,

Just up the road, says it all really. I'm sure you didn't mean that smiley
it really is tedious and I detest rain, just can't get excited about all
these wet figures.
Could be a blob of sleet in the muck tomorrow.
Merry Christmas ,

Merry Christmas Ken.

No that should not have been a smiley I'm well sick of all this much, I
detest it too
And yes your right, these wet and dull figures are nothing to get excited
about but a reality I'm afraid

All the best

Graham

Indeed, glad someone raised that point. I suppose the ultimate answer is 42.
