It's likely to get frosted before the end of the month. But still, it's
a sign of nice things to come. Hugh -- Hugh Newbury www.evershot-weather.org |

By the end of next week if current model outputs are to be believed. Serves the flowers right for coming out far too early, poor things :-) March is the time for daffs not January. http://www.lyneside.demon.co.uk/Hayt...antage_Pro.htm Will Hand (Haytor, Devon, 1017 feet asl) --------------------------------------------- |

Hugh Fields of Gold here since just before Christmas, this was New Years Day http://www.flickr.com/photos/timssea...es/8333466524/ The early narcissi were being picked in November, even on the mainland. You don't normally see many fields like this, but the Christmas break has meant a lot of the picking stopped and many of the south facing fields behind Penzance are now yellow. I think it rather brightens up am otherwise bleak time of year. At least the sun shone briefly on Christmas day http://www.thisiscornwall.co.uk/s-C-...ail/story.html. SST and air both around 11C at the time. Graham Penzance |

Hugh There's a roadside stand of daffs down the lane that up until 2010 flowered regularly by Dec. 18th. The following three years put them back to Feb., but this year they've clawed it back to Dec. 28th. They are a very good current indicator of the early winter weather. -- Hugh Newbury www.evershot-weather.org |
