Default Snow High Wycombe

Moderate Snow in High Wycombe.Only about 2cm lying but settling on roadsand conditions becoming bad!. Already seen first abandoned car just off road. Very hilly round where I live so glad that I just got home.It will be chaos around here when the schools come out.

Snow stopped here in Woodford Green 10 minutes ago ( 15-50) and temp which
has stuck at 0.8c all afternoon has risen to 1c,The sky is turning pink from
the south now so the sun is trying an appearance ,
snow cover is around 80% but all roads are clear, could get a bit icy if
skies do clear .....we are around 80 meters which seems to make quite a
difference to lying snow even a few hundred meters down to our local station
which is just wet..Great stuff for us weather enthusiasts. !

Then there's the ice to factor in later...Not going to be ideal laying down grit on an already wet surface, and no traffic to create brine (I assume they would grit this evening as having a gritter stuck on major routes is no help, ideally this is where the councils would get their snowploughs out.).. I would have thought that once the snow finishes later, the ice will compound the problem.

Stopped snowing soon after three then glorious late afternoon sunshine. Been out and taken some great photos in the local
park of snow laden trees.
